Kawasaki vient de faire son entrée avec la Z 125. Et Suzuki compte bien installer sa présence dans ce créneau. D'autant qu'elle a une nouvelle appellation forte en stock : GSX-S. La 1000 a fait basculer récemment Suz' dans le coté obscur des gros streetfighters , la 750 débarque pour croquer une part du juteux marché des moyenne cylindrée, la 125 GSX-S vient à présent compléter l'offre pour les 1/8ème de concevoir cette petite frappe, le constructeur est parti de la GSX-R 125. On conserve cadre, périphériques et mécanique puis on adapte l'habillage. Et c'est là qu'intervient la première surprise. Avec un tel nom, on pourrait s'attendre à une GSX-S 750 en miniature. Et bien pas du tout. La GSX-S 125 a son identité propre, crochue dans le sabot, énervée aux épaules et intriguante dans le coup de tronche. Les avis peuvent être partagés quant à ce faciès, globuleux et son châssis en tubes d'acier carrés, Suzuki a installé le bloc cm3 de la mini-sportive. Equipé d'une injection de 32 mm, du double ACT, de 4 soupapes et du refroidissement liquide, ce mono entend délivrer sa puissance de 15 ch légaux avec des performances d'accélération de premier plan. Le poids global de la moto devrait l'aider dans l'exercice. La GSX-S 125 accuse 133 kilos à la pesée, soit 5 unités de plus que les graciles 125 Duke et CBF 125 mais de 5 moins que la MT-125. Disques de frein à pétale, roues à 10 bâtons, ABS et tableau de bord digital sont également repris de la GSX-R. Par contre, le guidon haut (10 cm de plus que sur la Gex) et la selle parmi les plus basses de la catégorie devrait assurer une conduite dynamique avec un confort bien plus présent que sur la sportive. Par contre, Suzuki n'a pas transposé son système de démarrage sans clé. Dommage. A la place, on a droit à un système d'obturateur au niveau du contacteur....... on cherche encore l'utilité de ce truc. Le démarrage semble être une grosse préoccupation chez Suzuki, qui installe son système Easy Start de partout, et ainsi sur la GSX-S 125. Une pression, et ça tourne tout seul jusqu'au lancement du apporte de légers aménagements, avec la présence d'un warning au commodo droit et un affichage noir pour le tableau de part à la poursuite d'un segment qu'il n'avait plus connu depuis la 125 GN. Sa GSX-S 125 est à des années-lumière de son aïeule. Elle devra tacler des concurrentes déjà bien établies et sûres d'elles. Rebelle, elle veut compter sur ses entrailles de mini-GSX-R pour se faire un nom et une position. Un bon prix devrait aider tout ça.
